Stinson with Matt Kuhn
Genre

As I click
on the poll result, I can see that many readers love comedy book. So, when I
was browsing through the books at Big Bad Wolf book fair, I discovered this
one. It captured my attention because I was interested to the writer. He is one
of my favourite actors because he is really funny! Flipping through the pages,
I smiled stupidly to myself because as what I had expected, this book was
indeed funny and worth a read. I had decided to buy it. The great actor from a
famous TV series named How I Met Your
Mother and the author of The BRO Code,
Barney Stinson (real name is Neil Patrick Harris) has written another great
book entitled The Playbook. This book is what I wanted to highlight in today’s
entry.
Why do you
need to purchase this awesome book? Since the birth of human being, man has
been troubled by the question: “Why I am
here….alone…. no girlfriend… not banging chicks (ok, this one I extracted
from the book itself)?” Finally, your question shall be answered with the help
of The Playbook. Approaching any
woman with ease and persuading her to be your girlfriend can be achieved/ might
be achieved by you if you can utilize this book well. Well… at least that is
what this book says. Although this book is written for a man who is desperate
to find his girl, woman can also purchase this book because it is absolutely
funny and interesting (duhh… it is written by Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother, so yeah… it is a
great book).
Neil Patrick Harris Biography
Neil Patrick Harris (born June 15, 1973) is an American actor, producer, and director. He is known for playing Barney Stinson in the television comedy series How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014). The Playbook is written by Neil Patrick Harris using his character name from How I Met Your Mother, which is Barney Stinson.
Harris was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and grew up in nearby Ruidoso. His parents, Sheila (Scott) and Ron Harris, ran a restaurant. He attended La Cueva High School in Albuquerque, where he acted in school plays and musicals. Harris graduated as an honors student in 1991.Harris began his career as a child actor and was discovered by playwright Mark Medoff at a drama camp in Las Cruces, New Mexico. That is how he started his acting career until today.
If I am not mistaken, he had written two books so far. The first book is named as The BRO code while the second book is called The Playbook. Both of these books are hilarious and funny. So, for those who love to read comedy kind of book, you can consider these books.

How does The Playbook
work?
More than 75
seduction techniques included in this book will tune you into a ladies’ man, a
man desired by every woman (too good to be true, isn’t it?). As you flip
through the pages, you will notice that each tactic is presented in an easy –
to – follow recipe format. In every tactic, you will be given profile box that
includes the following quick reference information:
Success rate
→ the likelihood of achieving your goal
Attracts → the type of chicks which are MOST
likely to be attracted to the tactic
Requirements
→ the props/ special talent you might
need
Prep time → how much time is needed for the tactic
Bummers →
what makes you fail/ what you should avoid/ what you should consider before
choosing any technique
Following
the profile box are the numbered steps for each play. Bear in mind that simply
following the steps word by word will not actually guaranteed your success.
“While each of the plays presented in this book
will put you in the best possible position to score, the publisher makes no
guarantee you actually will. As the old saying goes, you can lead a horse to
water but can’t make him have sex with it.” – Disclaimer, quoted from The Playbook.
Interesting Highlight
By blindly
describing this book without giving any example will not give you a clear
picture. So, for the following section, I shall provide some examples from this
book which I feel are both funny and most importantly, they might actually
work.

- Pick out a particularly dense –

- Point to your drink and mention that
you’re only allowed to drink Tang up in space. When she asks if you’re an astronaut,
immediately shush her. Look around, then say in a hushed tone that you shouldn’t
be telling her this but you’re actually in a top secret government space program
called Secret NASA… or SNASA.
- Offer to demonstrate what re-entry feels
like when returning from the smoon (secret moon).

- When she asks who did it, look
around and point to the smallest dude in the room or a bro you want to play a
funny prank on.
- Let her reward you for saving her
life.
These are
just some of the examples that I extracted from this book. I am not sure
whether I have successfully included the funny part in my review but this book
really made my day. It is entertaining, funny and educational for those who
want to learn about the ways to hunt (I am not talking about hunting animals
here, get my hint!). If you want to read more, what are you waiting for, grab a
copy and start reading!
The Playbook - extracted from some scenes in How I Met Your Mother. Neil Patrick Harris always includes The Playbook and The BRO Code in his acting. I hope you will enjoy this!
